LOVELL, Maine (WLNE) — The death of a Dighton, Massachusetts, woman at a Maine vacation home in February has been ruled a homicide, officials said Thursday.

Jennifer Lingard, 41, was vacationing at her family’s home in Lovell with her two young kids, who were unharmed.

Maine State Police said the man responsible was Sami Daou, 33, of Newport, who died of a drug overdose in Rhode Island two days after Lingard was killed.

Investigators said Daou was in a relationship with Lingard and was also vacationing at the home.

State police are looking into how exactly she died now that the medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide.
