MassDOT reminding customers of text scam

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said it is reminding customers of text message-based scams.

MassDOT said scammers are claiming to represent the tolling agency and requesting payment for unpaid tolls.

The department said that the EZDriveMA program will never request payment by text and links will always include the www.EZDriveMA.com URL.

Customers can report scams to the FBI here, and should also check their toll balance via the company website or by calling 877-627-7745.
