MassDOT urges travelers to prepare for extreme heat

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will monitor road infrastructure to make sure the incoming heat wave does not affect it.
MassDOT said the highway division will pay attention to some of the state’s bridges, primarily drawbridges.
Heat can sometimes impact it, they said, particularly on the equipment that lowers the bridges.
MassDOT is reminding the driving to check the fluid levels in their cars as well, and to limit outdoor activity.
They are also reminding travelers to check fluid levels.
