Mattapoisett Police searching for owner of abandoned boat

MATTAPOISETT, Mass. (WLNE) — The Mattapoisett Police Department said it is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of boat that was dumped on the side of the road on Oct. 9.

According to police, the boat was left on the side of Wolf Island Road between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Police said the owner attempted to remove the hull identification number, but left “visible evidence.”

Police said the owner may face “substantial fees and possible criminal charges” if they do not come forward.
