Mattiello says Carnevale will not have a leadership role if he wins re- election

Rhode Island House Speaker Nick Mattiello says State Representative John Carnevale will not have a leadership role if he wins re- election.

The Providence Board of Canvassers is looking into whether or not Carnevale lives in Providence, which is his district and the state has said his ballot papers will not be certified until that is determined.

The state police are also looking into whether any laws have been broken.
