Mayor Brett Smiley to cut ribbon at a new city park

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Brett Smiley will cut the ribbon for a new urban park located at the corner of Westminster and Union Street today.

Grant’s Block opened to the public back in May after a renovation.

The new park now includes a 1,200 square foot dog park, as well as overhead lighting.

Smiley will be joined by the park’s developer, Arnold “Buff” Chance, Jr. and managing partners of Cornish Associates for the ribbon cutting.

The event will begin at 1 p.m.
