Mayor Brett Smiley to talk hurricane preparedness, flooding mitigation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Brett Smiley will join officials today to share important information about hurricane season preparedness.

Councilor Sue AnderBois and PEMA Director Clara Decerbo will also be present.

Smiley will also highlight the city’s proactive investments to prepare for extreme weather and mitigate flooding.

The conference, which will take place at 9 a.m., will take place at the FoxPoint Hurricane Barrier.
