Mayor Coogan, ARPA panel share second round of ARPA allocations in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- Mayor Coogan and the ARPA Advisory Panel have shared where the second round of ARPA funds will be allocated.
The total amount the city will be allocating is $8,640,900.
Small Business Grant Assistance Program will receive $3,260,000.
The funds will provide businesses that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic with grant assistance. Businesses with 5 or less employees could receive $2,500; businesses with 6 to 10 employees could receive $5,000.
Med Cat Ambulance Purchase for Fall River Emergency Medical Services will receive $298,900.
Computers and printers for Fall River police cruisers will receive $220,000. This will allow the purchase and installation of 53 new cruiser computers and 6 cruiser printers.
Crime Prevention Training and Equipment for the Fall River police will receive $562,000. This will allow the department to purchase new equipment including their radio system, 20 active shooter kits, and 5 police cruisers. Evidence Management and Audit training, de-escalation training, interview and interrogation school, implicit bias training, and police reform training will be apart of the funding.
Phase Four of the Quequechan Rail Trail Project will receive $4,000,000. The project is expected to link Britland Park to Travassos Park and the trail system.
Jerry Lawton Plaza Rehabilitation Project will receive $300,000. This public office space will receive necessary improvements to lighting, landscaping, and creation of water and electrical access.
