MBTA announces opening date for South Coast Rail
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The MBTA said that the tentative opening date for the South Coast Rail Line will be March 24.
The MBTA said that the date is pending approval from the Federal Railroad Administration.
There will be public meeting in Freetown on Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. to answer questions on the opening.

The line will connect Taunton, Freetown, New Bedford, Middleboro, and Fall River to Boston.
Full fare will be $12.25 with a reduced fare of $6.
It was originally set to open in 2023 before a number of delays.
