BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE)– The MBTA and Keolis announced adjusted schedules for some commuter trains on the Franklin/Foxboro Line and the Fairmount Line starting on Aug. 11.

The schedule changes will allow for Amtrak to make emergency repairs after a fire at a signal bungalow on Aug. 1, in addition to construction of a permanent, accessible platform at Foxboro Station and preparations for battery-electric trains along the Fairmount Line.

Outbound trains 1725, 1731 and 1739, which run to Foxborough in the middle of the day, will be removed from the schedule, while midday inbound trains 1732, 1740 and 1748 will also be removed.

According to the MBTA, outbound passengers can use the Franklin Line for all stops to Walpole and connect with a shuttle bus at Walpole for service to Foxboro, while inbound passengers can utilize Franklin Line service for all stops to South Station and connect with a shuttle bus at Foxboro to connect with train service at Walpole.

Inbound train 744 (the 1:20 p.m. from Franklin) will run via the Fairmount Line to provide service to affected passengers between Fairmount and South Station.

In addition, the MBTA says that passengers traveling inbound can expect to arrive at their destination five minutes late due to the construction work.

Special event trains for concerts and Patriots games will continue during construction.
