MBTA says changes to certain lines for repairs

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services said that they have implemented temporary schedule adjustments on the Franklin/Foxboro Line and for outbound Providence/Stoughton Line trains starting Aug. 4.

The following adjustments will be in place to repair “significant damage to a critical interlocking” caused by a downed wire:

The Franklin/Foxboro Line:

Boston Bound:

  • All inbound Franklin/Foxboro Line trains will bypass Forest Hills, Ruggles and Back Bay Stations.
  • All inbound Franklin/Foxboro Line trains from Forge Park will originate at Franklin Station after 9:00 a.m.
  • After 9:00 a.m., Forge Park passengers should arrive 20 minutes earlier than the regularly scheduled train departure to take connecting shuttle bus service to Franklin Station and continued train service to inbound to South Station
  • Boston bound Franklin/Foxboro Line passengers going to Forest Hills, Ruggles, or Back Bay may:
    • Transfer to a Providence Line train at Readville on Track 4 or
    • Stay on to South Station and then transfer to an outbound train or the subway
  • Foxboro Line Train 1770 [6:58 a.m. to South Station] will originate from Walpole Station

Franklin/Foxboro bound:

  • Three additional Franklin/Foxboro midday trains will stop at Hyde Park (see schedule at mbta.com/cr). From Hyde Park Station, Franklin/Forge Park passengers may take Franklin/Foxboro trains outbound
  • Buses will be available from Hyde Park Station to Readville Station for connections to continued service
  • Foxboro Train 1765 (5:32 p.m. from South Station) will terminate at Walpole with continued shuttle bus service to Foxboro Station
  • From Back Bay, Ruggles, or Forest Hills Stations passengers are advised to view alternatives on mbta.com/cr, check T-alerts, or contact Customer Service at 617-222-3200
  • For local Fairmount Line service, passengers are advised to view alternatives on mbta.com/cr, check T-alerts, or contact Customer Service at 617-222-3200

Providence/Stoughton Line:

Boston bound:

  • Some inbound Providence/Stoughton Line trains will make added stops at Readville and Forest Hills Stations

Providence/Stoughton Bound:

  • Passengers will not be able to board an outbound Providence/Stoughton train at Hyde Park Station. A shuttle bus connection will be available between Hyde Park and Readville Station for continued Providence/Stoughton Line train service.
    • Outbound Providence Line trains will utilize a temporary platform at Readville Station with a portable lift available for passengers requiring no-step boarding.
