MBTA to run special event train service for Army-Navy game in Foxborough

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The MBTA will offer special event train service to the Army-Navy game in Foxborough this year.

The 2023 Army-Navy game will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Gillette Stadium.

There will be three round-trip trains from Boston and two from Providence.

Tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. Monday only on the mTicket app.

The MBTA provided the following train schedule:

Boston Train 1

  • Depart South Station: 8:10 a.m.
  • Depart Back Bay: 8:15 a.m.
  • Depart Dedham Corporate Center: 8:35 a.m.
  • Arrive at Foxborough Station: 9:10 a.m.

Boston Train 2

  • Depart South Station: 10:10 a.m.
  • Depart Back Bay: 10:15 a.m.
  • Depart Dedham Corporate Center: 10:35 a.m.
  • Arrive at Foxborough Station: 11:10 a.m.

Boston Train 3

  • Depart South Station: 11:30 a.m.
  • Depart Back Bay: 11:35 a.m.
  • Depart Dedham Corporate Center: 11:55 a.m.
  • Arrive at Foxborough Station: 12:30 p.m.

Providence Train 1

  • Depart T.F. Green: 8 a.m.
  • Depart Providence Station: 8:20 a.m.
  • Depart Pawtucket/Central Falls: 8:26 a.m.
  • Depart Attleboro: 8:40 a.m.
  • Depart Mansfield: 8:50 a.m.
  • Arrive at Foxborough Station: 9:40 a.m.

Providence Train 2

  • Depart T.F. Green: 10:25 a.m.
  • Depart Providence Station: 10:45 a.m.
  • Depart Pawtucket/Central Falls: 10:51 a.m.
  • Depart Attleboro: 11:05 a.m.
  • Depart Mansfield: 11:15 a.m.
  • Arrive at Foxborough Station: Noon

People will need to buy separate special event train tickets for their outbound trip to Gillette and their inbound trip back to either Boston or Providence after the game. Each one-way ticket will be $10.

The MBTA noted that tickets for each special event train will be sold separately and must be purchased for the correct outbound and inbound trains in either city.

Tickets will be first-come, first-serve.

No refunds or exchanges will be available due to the anticipated high demand.
