McKee, Alviti presser to discuss Washington Bridge inspection report

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee and Department of Transportation director Peter Alviti will discuss the Washington Bridge Monday, and how its six lanes are fairing nearly a year later.

Monday morning, the two leaders will review the latest inspection report on the south span of the bridge.

While no details were given, a release from McKee’s office said the report re-affirms the safety of the six lane traffic pattern, which has been in place since March 2024.

The press conference will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the governor’s state room at the State House.
