McKee, Conn. Gov, Lamont address Revolution Wind restart in joint conference

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee is in Connecticut today and he and his counterpart, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont delivered a joint press conference on Revolution Wind.

This follows yesterday’s temporary injunction granted by a federal judge allowing work on the project to restart.

A stop-work order from the Trump administration filed in late August abruptly halted construction on the wind farm, which was at 80 percent completion.

The wind farm is expected to be completed in 2026 and will provide enough energy to power approximately 350,000 homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut.

The attorneys general of both states filed a request for the injunction last week.

Today, the two governors each spoke, pointing out the positive impacts of continuing the project.

Lamont said that restarting the project would find its way to the pockets of residents of both states, saying that the completed Revolution Wind project would bring down the price of electricity in the region.
