CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island leaders are encouraging the public to take the proper precautions this flu season.

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee and the Department of Health hosted a flu vaccination clinic Tuesday morning at the Blackstone Valley Prep Elementary School gymnasium at 52 Broad St. in Cumberland.

McKee and other state officials received their vaccinations.

The initiative launched the statewide 2023-2024 flu vaccination campaign.

The Department of Health posted a full list of where Rhode Islanders can get the flu vaccine.

Health officials said the vaccine is important for anyone older than 6 months. It is especially important for older adults, younger children, and those with weakened immune systems.
