McKee, Neronha and RI Delegation celebrate Revolution Wind court win
NEW LONDON, Conn. (WLNE) — Governor McKee will join Connecticut Governor Lamont for a press conference on the restart of the Revolution Wind.
That will be at 11 at the City Pier in New London.
We’re hearing from local leaders on the court victory for the project.
Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha celebrated the ruling, responding by way of a statement saying, the “Win is fantastic news for Rhode Island workers and families who want to see stability in energy costs and less reliance on fossil fuels.”
Rhode Island’s congressional delegation sent in a statement as well, with the four Democrats writing in part, quote, “This preliminary injunction that allows workers to get back to the job is the right outcome, and a welcome, positive, development.”
The statement by Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and Congressmen Gabe Amo and Seth Magaziner, goes on to say that they’ll fight to keep the work going at the federal level, adding “The interior department has provided no clear argument for its stop work order on the project.”
ABC6 has reached out to the Rhode Island GOP for comment on this development.
