McKee, other leaders to announce PPSD ‘path to total control’
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island state and education leaders are beginning what they’re calling the “path to local control.”
State leaders including Governor Dan McKee, education commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and Providence Public School District Superintendent Dr. Javier Montañez will meet today at Martin Luther King, Jr Elementary.
They’re expected to announce a plan to help leaders with a successful transition for PPSD away from full state control.
The plan will be announced at 2 p.m.
