McKee staffer reportedly drives through Dighton hit-and-run crime scene

DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Dighton Police Department said that a man drove through the crime scene of a deadly hit-and-run on Thursday.
Zachary Padula, of West Warwick, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop or yield.
The department said that Padula allegedly drove through the marked perimeter of the crime scene with multiple cruisers, cones, and lights displayed, and almost hit multiple officers.
Police added that Padula “showed signs of impairment” and refused a field sobriety test.
He was arrested and released on bail.
Gov. Dan McKee’s office confirmed that Padula is an employee there but declined to comment as it is a “personnel matter.”
