McKee to head to Washington to advocate for Washington Bridge funding

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee will head to Washington today.
McKee will meet with Tom Perez, Senior Advisor to the President and Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs to advocate for federal funding to support Rhode Island’s efforts to construct a new Washington Bridge.
The mega grant is $200 million.
Currently, demolition of the bridge is underway.
The company Kistler is installing a monitoring system meant to keep track of the bridge’s structural health to monitor real-life impact of the traffic driving over the bridge.
