McKee to host Earth Day event

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee and first Lady Susan McKee will host an Earth Day event today.

The event will show the latest efforts of the litter-free Rhode Island initiative.

During the event, McKee and the first lady will announce the recipients of the Department of Environmental Management’s litter free Rhode Island Micro-Grant program.

McKee will also sign an Earth Day proclamation highlighting Rhode Island’s state’s commitment to the making the state litter free.

Participants will also host a cleanup at Middletown High School.
