McKee to release FY2026 budget proposal, aims to resolve $300 million deficit
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee will release his fiscal year 2026 budget plan Thursday.
The state public expenditure released a report on January 10 saying the state budget deficit is now approximately $300 million.
That’s down from the October prediction of a $400 million deficit made by the state budget office.
Governor McKee said he plans to resolve it without any tax increases in the budget proposal.
