McKee to sign 3 bills to support Rhode Island veterans

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee will sign three bills to support Rhode Island veterans and service members.
One of the bills aims to stop “stolen valor.” It would make it illegal for someone to knowingly benefit from making false statements about military service.
Another bill would waive cat and dog adoption fees for veterans.
The last would created a special license plate for recipients of the United States bronze star medal. The medal is awarded to members of the armed forces for heroic achievements.
