Metacomet property officially under new ownership

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – It’s official, the Metacomet Property is under new ownership.

Marshall Development announced Friday, it has successfully closed on the Metacomet Golf Course and has taken full ownership of the property.

The property is 138 acres.

In September, Marshall announced it was withdrawing its petition for a zoning change and would continue working under the current zoning instead.

Some East Providence community members have strongly opposed Marshall Development’s proposal while acquiring the property.
