Mexico State prosecutor: 26 people killed in fireworks market explosion

TULTEPEC, Mexico – At least 26 people have been killed by a massive explosion at a fireworks market on the outskirts of Mexico City. Scores more are injured.

The blast happened at the open-air San Pablito Market.

It sent a huge plume of smoke billowing and left the scent of gunpowder in the air.

Cars and nearby homes were damage.

Firefighters had no choice but to let unexploded fireworks be consumed by flames.
