MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Middleborough and state police responded Saturday night to a gathering of approximately 50 vehicles in a town business parking lot before one of the drivers attempted to strike an officer at the scene.

According to Massachusetts State Police, town and state police personnel responded to the parking lot at Route 105 and Route 28 at approximately 11 p.m.

According to police, several of the vehicles at the scene had stolen license plates.

A white Dodge Challenger with Connecticut plates attempted to strike one of the officers after police arrived.

The Charger was located on I-495 a short time later by state police, along with another vehicle present at the parking lot.

Troopers pursued the vehicles, with the chase entering I-195 West toward Rhode Island.
