Middleborough police make arrest after triple stabbing

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Middleborough Police Department said they arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed three teenagers early Saturday morning.

Jayden Wainwright was charged with attempted murder and three counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Chief Joseph Perkins said police responded to a call shortly after midnight reporting multiple people having been stabbed in the area of Wall Street.

Responding officers found two 19-year-old men suffering from stab wounds at the scene. One was transported to Boston Medical Center in critical condition while the other was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

A third victim, a 15-year-old, was taken to Tobey Hospital by a private citizen, Perkins said.

Wainwright, who is 18-years-old, was taken into custody after an investigation by the department.

Perkins added that the case remains under investigation and additional charges may be brought against additional individuals.
