Middleborough woman killed in morning crash

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) – A Middleborough woman was killed in a crash this morning on Route 28.

At approximately 8:27AM, Middleborough Police and Fire received a call for a car that had crashed into a wooded area on Route 28 near the off-ramp of Interstate 495 northbound lanes.

72-year-old Susan Sumner, of Middleborough, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Middleborough Police Department, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police detectives from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and CRASH Investigative Team.
