UPDATE: 7-year-old boy dies after fatal fire breaks out in Middletown

A fatal fire broke out in Middletown Monday morning claiming the life of a 7-year-old boy.
Three children were sent to the hospital after the fire broke out at 556 East Main Road.
An officer on patrol spotted smoke coming from a building just after midnight.
Officials say the children were sleeping while the fire broke out.
They were removed from the residence and transported to Newport Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro for treatment.
Fire officials say 7-year-old Ramon Arroyo passed at Hasbro Hospital at 5:21 a.m. Monday morning.
16-year-old Cheyanne Arroyo was treated and released from Newport Hospital while 14-year-old Leilaney Arroyo continues to be treated at Hasbro hospital.
The fire department was able to extinguish the fire and determined that there were no other people inside the building.
Police say five officers were treated and released from Newport Hospital for minor injuries due to smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
