A miniature mare that went missing after escaping from her Coventry home during Tuesday's storm has been found safe.
Her owner, Denise, tells ABC6 that the horse, Misty, was spotted in a wooded area near Hammet Road in Coventry Thursday afternoon. After two hours of trying to corral her, they succeeded and were reunited around 4:30 p.m.
Misty got through the electric fence during the storm around 5 a.m. Tuesday after the power went out, escaping from her Franklin Road home near Routes 102 and 117.
Denise says Misty, described as "skittish", was adopted on Saturday and rescued from an abusive home and was recently separated from her baby.
"She's come from a very bad situation, so she doesn't really trust humans, and my feeling is that she's out there trying to look for her baby," said Denise, when Misty first went missing.
