BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — It’s a busy couple of weeks for 17-year-old Jade Ramos of Bristol and nine-year-old Addison Abate.

"I’m very honored because I lived in Bristol my entire life and I was actually Little Miss 4th of July when I was younger, so I get to relive everything," said Ramos.

Ramos was crowned Miss Fourth of July at the annual pageant last month, but waving in the parade on Wednesday is far from her only duty.

"We go to the concerts every night, pass out buttons, and help the 4th of July committee. I come here to these different receptions and represent the town of Bristol and wave in the parade to everyone and just have fun," said Ramos.

"I was really shocked though at first. And I’m really happy to represent the town," said Abate.

For Addison Abate, the honor of Little Miss 4th of July is extra special because she was runner up last year.

"Last year it was really fun and i got to see a lot of people. And now I get to do it again, and now it’s Little Miss and I’m really happy and excited to do this this year."
