The Vermont man’s father, Clark Carman, is speaking out saying his son, 22-year-old Nathan Carman, needs time to process, and is asking for privacy at this time.
Linda Carman, Nathan’s mother, is still missing after their boat sank during a fishing trip.
However, police think something about Carman’s story does not add up. In fact, this is not the first time authorities have had a run in with the 22-year-old.
ABC6 has learned that Nathan was a suspect in the murder of his wealthy grandfather back in 2013.
His father addressed Nathan’s involvement in both cases.
“I know my son. He’s not capable of it for one…They were the most important people in his life. So no, and I don’t really have anything more to say at this point. Probably said more than I should.”
Police say the boat needed repairs, which Nathan was trying to do on his own and that may have made the boat unsafe.
