Missing man found in Lakeville pond, pronounced dead at hospital

LAKEVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — A missing man was pronounced dead after he was recovered from Long Pond in Lakeville on Saturday evening.

The Lakeville Police Department said a man in his 60s died after going missing near the “Pond-A-Palooza” event at the Eagles Club on County Street.

Police and fire units responded to reports of a missing person Saturday afternoon and found the man in the pond at 5:43 p.m.

The man was given lifesaving measures and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, according to authorities.

Officials said the death is under investigation.
