Monday break before more rain and cool weather
PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) — Despite the gusty winds, Monday will go down as the nicest day of this work week.
Highs reached the low 60s, and we saw plenty of sunshine – much more than we saw all weekend. The dry conditions came after a record-setting rainfall on Sunday. Unfortunately, they will not last.
We are still stuck in this upper-atmospheric blocking pattern, with low pressure parked over the Great Lakes… again! This will spin in showers each of the next 3 or 4 days, and will also keep temperatures below normal.
In fact, Thursday may not make it out of the 40s and could challenge a record set over a century ago!
But there is good news in this forecast discussion – the weekend looks superb for a change! Both days will feature sunshine, and seasonable temperatures Saturday will shoot into the 70s Sunday and Monday. Until then, I apologize for the next few days!
