More Rain on the Way

After a period of locally thick fog this morning, we are expecting lots of clouds and muggy conditions today. Into this soup, we will bring through a cold front. As a result, we could see 1-2 inches of rainfall and possibly even more from thunderstorms. Precipitation will begin before noon and likely last through the evening commute. A FLOOD WATCH has been issued for Southern New England, with the exception of the Cape and islands, from 11 am through tonight. Flash flooding is possible as well with areas of downpours. Behind this cold front, we find a lovely day Thursday with comfortable humidity levels and plenty of sunshine. Friday looks to have more clouds and will be dry and comfortable through the daylight hours. Starting Friday night, we will start to see some impact from Hurricane Lee. The storm is expected to pass to the east but the exact track will determine if we see high winds, torrential tropical rains, and coastal flooding. What we do know we will see is increasingly rough surf, dangerous rip currents and possible beach erosion.
