Mother, infant rescued from roof of burning apartment unit in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River fire crews rescued a mother and her infant off of a roof after an apartment unit caught fire Wednesday night.

The fire happened at about 7:30 p.m. at a three-story building on Globe Street.

When firefighters arrived, flames were coming from one side of the building and crews worked to put out the fire.

Firefighters were able to rescue a mother and her infant from the roof of the building. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire is believed to have started after a stroller caught fire.

Fire officials said the building is not a complete loss.
