Motions to dismiss two charges denied in Karen Read case

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The motions to dismiss two charges in the Karen Read case have been denied and prosecutors will move forward and re-try Read in her murder case.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin in two and a half weeks and Read’s retrial is scheduled to begin April 1.

Read is accused of hitting and killing her boyfriend and Boston police officer, John O’Keefe with her car.

Read’s defense team can appeal the court’s decision.
