Motorcyclist hospitalized after colliding into rescue vehicle in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department said a motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding head-on with a Warwick Fire Department rescue vehicle Monday night.

Police said the rescue vehicle was headed back to the fire station around 7:40 p.m. in a “non-emergency capacity” on Diamond Hill Road when a motorcyclist lost control and crossed the double yellow line, striking the rescue vehicle head-on, according to police.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial investigation shows the motorcycle operator’s speed was a factor in the crash, according to Warwick police.

Police are investigating the crash.
