Motorcyclist killed in Dighton crash

DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Dighton police said one man is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle Friday night.

According to to Dighton first responders, the crash happened just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Main and Elm streets.

When first responders arrived they saw a motorcycle and car collided.

The man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene.

Two people were in the car and driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the passenger refused further treatment.

Investigators remain on scene and police are asking motorists to seek alternate routes as the road is expected to remain closed for several hours.

Dighton police, state police and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the cause of the crash.
