MSP: 27-year-old New Bedford woman killed in Rt. 140 crash

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A New Bedford woman has died following a crash on Rt. 140 in Taunton Thursday.

Massachusetts State Police said they responded to a crash on Rt. 140 Southbound near Exit 10 around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

There, they found a vehicle that had gone “down an embankment to the side of the roadway.”

Though responders were initially able to communicate with the driver, 27-year-old Breanne Cabral, of New Bedford, her condition quickly worsened and she had to be transported to Rhode Island Hospital by MedFlight.

Officials said she succumbed to her injuries while in the hospital.

State police are continuing to investigate the crash.
