MSPCA takes in 39 dogs from Texas shelter

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) has taken in 39 dogs from Texas as part of Operation Kindness.

The dogs came in by plane from a lifesaving shelter in Carrollton, Texas on May 25.

The dogs range in age from two months to three-years-old and the breeds range from pitbull mixes to chihuahuas and poodle mixes and hound mixes.

“Operation Kindness is really unique in that it’s tackling the biggest animal welfare problems facing the South right now – and those are huge problems,” said MSPCA-Angell Vice President of Animal Protection, Mike Keiley.

These animals are also the inspiration behind the MSPCA’s next fee-waived adoption event, Texas Home ‘Em.

The event will be held during shelter hours at the MSPCA’s shelters in Boston, Methuen, Salem and Centerville beginning June 3 at the Northeast Animal Shelter, June 4 at the other three locations and through June 9 at all shelters.
