The 195 Commission has been given a new proposal to develop 2 parcels on the I-195 land.

Wexford Science & Technology and CV Properties LLC submitted a proposal last week for the multi-million dollar development on parcels 22 and 25.

The development would create over a million square feet of mixed-use space including labs, office, retail, hotel and residential space, and take several years to complete.

The proposal will now be considered by the I-195 Commission at their next meeting.

Governor Gina Raimondo says she is looking forward to learning more about the proposal.

“It’s time to get Rhode Island moving again by putting shovels in the ground, making it easier to do business here, and creating jobs,” said Governor Gina M. Raimondo. “This is an exciting preliminary proposal that could begin the transformation of the I-195 land from vacant lots to a thriving innovation district that highlights the potential of partnering with our outstanding research institutions and our proximity to Boston and Cambridge. Wexford has a strong track record of innovation and development in other cities, including Boston and Philadelphia and we look forward to learning more about their proposal for 195.”
