Multiple Eversource employees injured in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Fire Department said that several Eversource employees were injured on East Rodney French Boulevard Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a “possible explosion” around 8:30 a.m. to find four injured workers.

The department said the injuries occurred while the workers were “confirming power to a transformer was secure to conduct service at an adjacent property.”

All four victims were transported to the hospital.

The department also said the incident caused an outage to 1,300 customers.
