Multiple fire departments battle large fire in Bristol

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — A large fire in Bristol initiated a response from multiple surrounding communities’ fire departments.
The fire took place at a two story home on Griswold Avenue.
Bristol Fire Chief Michael DeMello said that the department received a call around 8 a.m. reporting smoke coming from the house.

DeMello said that the fire travelled through the entire house, and that one firefighter was injured and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
ABC 6 News crews on scene said that the Bristol, Portsmouth, Swansea Fire Departments were there.
“We have a robust mutual aid system in the state,” DeMello said.
