‘Person of interest’ in auto-body killing identified

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A Providence man accused in Friday’s murder at an auto-body shop will go before a judge Tuesday afternoon .

Hierberro Rivera was arrested Monday after a chase with police that resulted in a four-car crash.

Rivera was wanted in connection to the shooting death of 36-year-old Adalberto Martinez, a mechanic who was killed in broad daylight while working at the auto-body shop last Friday.

On Monday, an officer spotted a car linked to Rivera and chased him for half a mile before crashing on Branch Avenue.
