Narragansett police investigate breaking and entering, search for suspect caught on camera
NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE)- Narragansett Police are investigating after a man was caught on camera entering a home last week.
The man was caught covering his face before opening a storm door, and stepping into a home twice. The breaking and entering happened in the Mettatuxet section of town.
Neighbors sold ABC6 they’re now on high-alert after seeing the video.
Resident Christina Holmes said she first saw the video on social media. Holmes always locks her doors, but still never expected anything like this to happen in her neighborhood.
“Majority of it is all families so it’s kinda interesting that this is even happening,” Holmes told ABC6.
Investigators say the suspect snuck into a home last Saturday between 7:15 and 7:45 p.m. Police are still looking to make an arrest.
Mettatuxet neighbors say they’re uneasy knowing the suspect is still on the loose. The homeowner took to Facebook asking for help in identifying the man, and warning others to lock up.
She said he went into her backyard after going through her 6 foot tall fence, and went into the home twice.
Narragansett police also shared the homeowners video with close up shots of the suspect, in hopes of finding out who the man is.
Anyone with information on the mans identity or who may have cameras in the neighborhood are asked to contact the Narragansett Police Department.
