Narragansett, South Kingstown announce ban on all outdoor water use until further notice

SUEZ Water Rhode Island and the towns of South Kingstown and Narragansett have banned all outdoor water use until further notice.

Officials say this is in response to recent dry conditions and heavy consumer demand.

This ban on outdoor water use impacts the following people:

• Rhode Island SUEZ water system customers
• Town of South Kingstown South Shore and Middlebridge water system customers
• Town of Narragansett – All water system customers

These restrictions do not impact Kingstown Water District Customers.

The ban is effective immediately and will last until further notice, according to officials.

Officials say the water ban is being enacted to ensure sufficient fire protection and supply to meet customer needs.

Water customers are also encouraged to use water wisely.
