National Federation of the Blind Rhode Island hosts annual convention

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The National Federation of the Blind Rhode Island hosted its 54th annual state convention during the weekend.

The organization said the event aims to “celebrate 54 years of empowering blind people to realize their dreams and live the life they want.”

Sen. Jack Reed attended the event Saturday to speak on equality and accessibility for the blind.

“Glad to join with tremendous advocates to discuss how we can ensure blind Rhode Islanders have the same rights and opportunities as all Americans,” he said.
