NAUSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Principal of Nauset Regional Middle School, who was named in the Aaron Thomas “fat test” lawsuit, resigned last week.

In an email to ABC 6 News Tuesday, the school district said Keith Kenyon stepped down Wednesday for “personal reasons.” He was a former North Kingstown athletic director.

“At his request, the school district entered amicable negotiations and arrived at a separation agreement for Mr. Kenyon to leave the district’s employ,” the statement read.

With Kenyon’s departure, the district has named Mark Wilson the interim principal at the middle school.

“Interim Principal Wilson looks forward to joining the Nauset team on Tuesday morning, and he also looks forward to meeting all staff, students and families in the remaining weeks of this school year,” the district said.

Nauset Public Schools will be posting the permanent principal position next week.

“We recognize that this time of temporary transition may be of concern to staff, students and families, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to work together to build a strong administrative team at the Nauset Regional Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year and beyond,” the department said in the statement.
