NBA title eludes Celtics as Golden State win Game 6, take series 4-2

BOSTON (WLNE) — The Golden State Warriors are the 2022 NBA champions after defeating the Boston Celtics 103-90 in Game 6 at TD Garden Thursday Night.

The Celtics came up short in an attempt to garner their 18th NBA title, dropping the the series four games to two, including losing the last three.

It’s the Warriors seventh title overall and their fourth since 2014.

The Celtics started out Game 6 on a 14-2 run, but Golden State then took the game over including a 21-0 run that push their lead to 15 two minutes into the second quarter.

Boston was able to cut the lead to single digits in the fourth quarter following a Jaylen Brown 3, but Andrew Wiggins immediately answered and the Warriors never looked back in securing the NBA title.

Brown and Steph Curry led all scorers with 34 points in the decisive game.
