NBA veteran Horford leaving Celtics for Golden State Warriors on multiyear deal

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — One of the most beloved Celtics of the 2024 championship run is set to leave the team.

ESPN reports that Al Harford is set to join the Golden State Warriors on a multiyear contract.

Horford spent seven of the last nine seasons with the Celtics.

He’s one of the oldest players in the NBA at 39 years old winning his first title with the Celtics in his 17th season.

In his time with the Celtics, Horford was regarded as the team’s veteran leader, helping mentor Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown early in their careers.
